In 1992, Amanda Bossard began her research in marine biology at Anchorage in Alaska at the University of Alaska Pacific. Bossard started her journey in the commercial seafood industry in 1999. They're both supporters of conservatism and lucrative renewable resources for seafood management. Otolith opened its direct market wholesale distributor in Philadelphia when Bossard returned from living back in her home town with two daughters, Bella 3 years old and Andre one, to Philadelphia. In 2007, Bossard, mother to two kids Bella, age 3, and Andre 1 and returning to Philadelphia from her home in Canada opened otolith as a direct-market wholesale seafood distributor. Since July of 2016, Bossard along with her daughter Isabella age 12 and son Andre age 10 are back in Southeast Alaska annually each summer for deckhand work throughout the wild salmon harvest in summer. Hooks and lines are used to catch their fish after which they join Aritan for local processors for two months. After that, they grow their direct seafood market through Otolith Sustainable Seafood.
